Hi! I’m Jessica Christmann, LCMHC
My therapeutic approach and style includes:
Firstly, I’m a therapist because therapy helped me heal from the invisible wounds of trauma and provided me with a language to better understand the chaos around me and in me. I have both lived experience and professional experience of how therapy can change us for the better.
I am the passenger and YOU are the driver on your healing journey. We got at whatever pace feels most comfortable for you.
I will NOT tell you how you should or shouldn’t be doing. Life is hard enough on it’s own, who wants to feel judged for how we show up in it?
I use humor, the occasional music and movie references, and try my best to deliver the hard truth with tact and empathy.
I am open to feedback. Share with me what’s working/not working and I can adjust. I love to train my mental flexibility muscle!
What a trauma-informed therapist looks like:
There are ways we can work where you don’t have to talk about the details of your trauma. We keep it contained and focus on things you can do—actionable steps for growth.
I may notice when you become dysregulated and offer you techniques to pause and bring you back into the present moment.
Empowering you freedom and autonomy to decide what is important to work on.
Safety precedes healing. Your safety will always be prioritized.
About Me
Since you landed on this page, I take it you want to know a little bit more about me. My clients want a therapist who is balanced, authentic, and professional. I provide my clients tools on how to navigate the chronic people-pleasing, the burnout, the high-functioning anxiety, and the inner critic.
My therapeutic approach is relational and integrative, with an emphasis on creating safety to enable connection and openness.
My professional experience is anchored in my role at the Department of Veteran Affairs, where I provided individual, couples, and group therapy for veterans grappling with PTSD, substance use disorders, and relationship-related distress. I have gained a solid foundation in evidence-based practices to treat clinical mental health disorders and couples issues. I have witnessed remarkable transformations, empowering my clients to reclaim their narratives and foster resilience.
