Hi, I’m Jessica Christmann, LCMHC

Many of my clients come to therapy longing for closeness but feeling guarded, stuck in patterns of distance or conflict, or carrying past experiences that still shape how they relate to others.

Perhaps you’re good at masking but inside you feel alone and overwhelmed. Asking for help wasn’t a safe option in the past so now you can’t help but feel like a burden when you need support. And sometimes you feel like your relationships are one-sided or surface level. Maybe you are working through complicated interpersonal dynamics or the conflicting emotions that come with experiencing abuse (physical, emotional, verbal, or sexual).

The patterns we carry in relationships live deep within us- woven into the fabric of our early attachments. People who experienced chaotic or unstable childhoods and emotionally unavailable or critical caregivers often feel this way. The good news is that that you can learn how to maintain healthy boundaries, identify and communicate your needs, and even find confidence and acceptance of yourself.
